Submitted by Fabian Lim on November 2, 2008 – 4:09 amOne Comment

I came across a very interesting and insightful set of slides on the topic Top 10 Google Myths Debunked.

These slides, prepared by John Mueller, a Google Webmaster Trends Analyst served to debunk (i.e. clarify) several popular myths with regards to search engine optimization do’s and don’ts.

Amongst the most popular myth clarified is that concerning "duplicate content penalty".

View the entire slide presentation below to learn about Google’s position on this myth and many others!

Isn’t it strange? Google is making their search engine more “human”, while we, in our attempts to get to Page 1, think like robots. Forget SEO. Soon enough, there will be less need to worry about anything else other than to focus on saying what you intend to say in plain understandable language and Google will take care of the rest. Let the Bots worry about finding you. Who knows, we’ll be getting good stuff even beyond Page 2. Just pray that the search engine doesn’t become a monster that becomes “self-aware” and there will be nothing you do can control it. Ha!
