I am a fellow singaporean. Althought internet marketing is something that has taken root since many years ago in singapore, till date, all that we see if people pitching many quick money on the internet – get rich quick. Yes the so call guru in singapore and malaysia can make quick money now becos of the years of establishment (e.g. list of subscriber) and experience and knowledge which they have taken years to acquire, it is not possible like what they said that beginner can CONSTANTLY make money without going thru the learning curve.

In many of the seminar in asia, too much of BS. Yes these guru are tell the truth but is only half true. And as a result it create a wrong impression in many people that they can make money overnight.

I really think singapore and asia internet marketer should stop all this B.S and seriously think of developing products and conduct seminars that give thru values. Good example to learn are The System Seminar and real helpful internet marketing experts (I don’t call them guru) like Dr Ken Evoy, Derek Gehl, Kevin Wilke

What people need is a proven internet business blue print. There are simply too much of B.S products launched today in US and Asia (including Singapore) that make people sick. There are a lot of people want to make a good living using the internet and it is possible. However all this BS product not only don’t help them but cost them to lost money and lost their time. And at time, it makes their family members suffer due to financial challenges.

Is this the type of business that our singapore and asia marketing guru want to create and make money in.

Please give real good values to people and you can be a maven

    Hi Michael,

‘ I totally agree with you.

There is too much hype in the marketplace in the internet marketing arena, not only in Asia, but also around the world.

You wrote – "Yes the so call guru in singapore and malaysia"

Who are you referring to specifically?

It does not help that you are accusing EVERY internet "guru" in Singapore and Malaysia of pitching "get quick rich products or programs" with your statement.

You wrote – "it is not possible like what they said that beginner can CONSTANTLY make money without going thru the learning curve."

    I disagree with your statement.

I have many students who are now constantly making a healthy income online, and they were COMPLETE beginners when they first started.

I guess you don’t know what you don’t know.

You wrote – "I really think singapore and asia internet marketer should stop all this B.S and seriously think of developing products and conduct seminars that give thru values. "

Have you even been to my seminar or preview sessions? If not, you’re welcome to attend and see whether my seminars and previews DO provide value.

You wrote – "What people need is a proven internet business blue print." I totally agree with you here.

And in my seminar and previews, I reveal a proven 5 step internet success model.

You wrote – "There are simply too much of B.S products launched today in US and Asia (including Singapore) that make people sick."

Again, what products are you referring to. I’m curious to find out, especially since you mentioned Singapore products.

You wrote – "Is this the type of business that our singapore and asia marketing guru want to create and make money in."

I assume you are referring to Patric Chan’s Niche Marketing 2.0 product.

What is your concern about his product? In my opinion, Niche Marketing 2.0 is a very good product. It is certainly not a "get quick rich" product. No where in the sales copy did Patric claim you will gain overnight riches.

Niche Marketing 2.0 is a niche marketing system. And what I like about it is the Niche 2.0 Site Content Management System (CMS), which has many wonderful functionalities and widgets that will allow anyone to build a niche business around, without needing or understanding HTML or coding.

The methods taught by Patric (and myself) to build a successful niche business is totally ethical (and white hat) – and that is why I endorse Patric’s products and methods.

So what is your grief about?

In any case, Patric offers a Money-Back Guarantee, so if you think Patric’s product doesn’t meet your expectations, you can simply ask for a refund.

You wrote – "Please give real good values to people and you can be a maven"

Thank you for your "compliment "and do take the time to attend one of my previews in Singapore and say ‘hi’ to me when you see me.

Michael, there is no B.S. but only a longer road to reach your goals. Try to cut through all the lengthy wording of documents found in most products as it can give one paralysis and prevent one from moving forward at a much faster pace. If you have ever experience this; When we reach the stage of high gear we know what we want to make the right decisions to reach our goals.

As you know most of the time the idea of fattening of products means better value and it will continue to be for all types of information products. So you can’t run away from the paralysis and also the fact it leads one to a long learning curve.

But if you know that what is needed to operate in high gear mode, then succint and pertinent information and past experience (from doing and testing) is the crucial criteria needed to steer us nearer and quicker to the desired results.

  • Pgoh says:

    Hi

I totally agree with both Michael and Fabian.

I attended Fabian 1st bootcamp and I must say it’s full of heavy stuff (to newbie like me), but I learn a lot and that started my self awareness & education in the Internet as a tool for everything “future”. That was my initial Objective and I think Fabian did very well on that score.

As for making money, If I remember correctly Fabian did mention that only a small fraction (10% or less?) of his students from each 1st bootcamp succeed (in making money?) or make any headway in Internet Marketing, this is NOT a success by all means, can’t imagine if only 10% of students in every school passes the exams, so if this is the Objective then many including myself belonged to the 90% failures and this maybe called B.S ?

Perhaps Michael is thinking of making money as a living, in which case one would need to SELF study & research or join more seminar and test the waters before really committing to anything, and this take years if one does not have much time. Even learning FTP takes a while !

    Thanks

    Pgoh

  • Teddy Wu says:

    Hi Micheal,

I started Internet Marketing since 2005 when Internet Marketing was just introduced to Singapore. I have to pay money to attend Previews and have to pay a lot of money just to attend a seminar. During my very first seminar I have decided that Internet Marketing is something that I want to do, I team up with two of my friend who also attending the seminar and we bought a handful of packages. We spend a total amount of about $15,000. Currently my income is 100% from Internet Marketing.

Let me point out few things that make me and some of my friends able to live comfortable on Internet Marketing.

    Mindset:

Internet Marketing is a Business and is not a get rich fast scheme, I don’t think that you can find a business that can make you a lot money without putting in the necessary efforts and investments.

You mention that “It is not possible for beginner to constantly make money without going thru the learning curve”

I will Yes there is a learning curve, it really depends on how far you want to go with Internet Marketing. If you are serious and treat Internet Marketing as a Business, then you will have to put in serious time to learn and grow.

“NO” I have known many Singaporean that are earning good income online, some don’t even attended any training (They are not IT trained either). A young lady (25) I know is earning about 3K per month on her eBay store, she never attended any training, all she does is to Take Action and eBay provides all the necessary information on all the How to… There are two young man I met recently, both are students and they have an online business that generating on average 2.5K per month for them. They also didn’t attend any training, they research online and find the necessary information and take Action. Many more example, let me know if you want to see more hey if you want I can introduce them to you in person.

Are you willing to Take Action, I have been around many years. The only problem I notice is that people are not taking enough Action from what they learn. I do help out in training and coaching, the biggest challenges is not taking enough ACTION. There is nothing to stop you to be successful, it’s all in your mindset and you Action.

One big issue that I see from many beginner, they reject and compliant when someone are selling them products. Hey this is Internet MARKETING, you suppose to learn and do marketing, if you reject being marketed then don’t do marketing. Go get a admin JOB!

I love when people are trying to sell me stuffs, I will see what they have done right in their marketing and learn from them. I will also purchase products and upgrade myself and learn new stuff, must say many product I have purchased recently I know probably 80% – 90% of the stuff, but one new idea or strategy can make a lot of different on my income.

Before I started Internet Marketing, I don’t even go online, I probably check my email every 3 months. I have 101% Zero background on IT!

I know Fabian Lim and Patic Chan personally, and I must say both are great trainers, coaches and mentors. They are really here to Give. You should attend Fabian’s boot camp and compare to those you claim real helpful Internet marketing experts. Just wondering are you their Affiliates? I know some of them and there are people giving bad comments on them too…

Well, I do agreed that there are some BS around. You just have to do your necessary judgments and researches, hey in life BS is everywhere my friend!

Talking about “success blue print” it’s everywhere, go to a bookshop there are tones in there (Name a topic (Investment, Business, Internet Marketing, Relationship etc…), there probably have some guides and blue prints around. It’s not the blue print that make someone successful, it’s all about Mindset and Actions.

My friend, stop compliant! What you Focus on the most is what you going to get the most!

    Cheers,
    Teddy

  • Haron06 says:

Everything has to start somewhere. As a newbie there is nothing stopping you from making a constant income. Everyday is a learning curve, but as a newbie if you take action based on what you were taught (e.g Fabian bootcamp) you will get result because the system is proven to work.

No knowledge is BS, it is just how you perceive it to be. If you take it in positive way it would benefit you but you think negatively it will be otherwise.

As a beginner we just need to do it and learn along the way..

    No Action No Gain!

  • Fabian Lim says:

    Hi David,

    Excellent post!

You wrote – “then succint and pertinent information and past experience (from doing and testing) is the crucial criteria needed to steer us nearer and quicker to the desired results.”

    I totally agree.

And I’ll emphasize that “experience” is really the mother of all learning.

Many internet marketers are fast becoming “textbook” experts.

They have the knowledge but they don’t ACT!

If you don’t ACT, you won’t get any RESULTS, regardless of how accurate or real the knowledge is.

Many people fail to take action because they fail failure.

But becoming successful really requires you to do the opposite i.e. take action faster so you will fail faster!

Every failure has a lesson to be learnt.

As one of my students, Amirul Khairi, put it, “There’s a hideen magic in every mistake”.

The sooner you fail, the faster you’ll succeed.

    Fabian

  • Fabian Lim says:

    Hi PGoh,

Based on the testimonials and feedback I receive from the IMB program, 10% is about the right number, in terms of people who succeed online.

This means that 90% have no results to show for.

    Is this distressing?

    I don’t think so.

The fact that IMB program have allowed many to quit their jobs, some even earning a consistent five-figure income online is proof that the information and techniques shared in the program WORKS!

As for the 90% non-success rate, it is important to ascertain WHY.

(Notice I used the term “non-success” and not “failure” – because those in the 90% KNOW what they need to do to succeed, but for some reason, choose not to take action)

And here’s my take: 90% of graduates don’t succeed online because that don’t take CONSISTENT ACTION, or even any action at all.

If you want to earn consistent income online, you need to learn the right techniques and take consistent action.

  • Fabian Lim says:

    Hi Teddy,

Thank you for sharing your journey and insight on internet marketing.

    And you said it well.

The two key components of success in ANY business is having the RIGHT MINDSET and TAKING POSITIVE ACTION.

Internet marketing, as a business, is no different.

The funny thing is I see people constantly BUYING INTO HYPE and later COMPLAINING about the hype!

    How strange!

    All the best!

    Hi Haron,

You wrote – “No knowledge is BS, it is just how you perceive it to be. If you take it in positive way it would benefit you but you think negatively it will be otherwise.”

    How very true!

Thank you for sharing your views (Haron is an IMB grad of mine, BTW) and with your level of positivity, I believe you will achieve ANYTHING you set your heart and mind on.

See you at the top Haron!

  • Lawrence G says:

As Haron06 says, everything have to start somewhere. Internet, the world or even space, people tried fail, BS a lot and claim many a things but for everything that is out there, some will be good but most will be not so good thus it is up to us to find out.

The course by Fabian have indeed open my eyes to the possibility of making money via the net but no person is going to get rich overnight. Even after the course I still have to do research and to find-tune the things I have learn and Taken Action.

It is up to the individual to find out the What, Why, When and How and along the way I suppose one might have gotten some wrong information or got hustle on some course that cost them money.

As to “proven internet business blue print” Well if there is one, everybody will be a millionaire no?

  • James says:

Wow, that is pretty response to Michael’s message and I though I will contribute my two cents worth

What Michael said has some amount of truth.

For example, in the last few years of the World Internet Summit in Singapore and also in many part of the world, the organizers of the event get a total newbie from the crowd to prove that anyone can make money from the internet.

Yes with the help of the organisers, these people did make money during the event. But the question is “can these people make money if not for the help of the organisers and the other guru at the event?”. The answer is obvious.

Becos of such kind of demo, it gives many people the wrong idea that anyone can make quick money. And to make matter worst, at such events, a lot of presenters sell their products and services. And a lot of people brought them with a mislead thinking that they can make money overnight – especially for those who bought “business in a box” type of product.

And last week, I just heard from a friend who attended an expensive seminar in Singapore by one very well known internet marketer (super affiliate level, most people will know him if I mentioned his name). In order to sell his product, this person told a white lies that he will be retiring from internet marketing scene and as a result people rush to buy his ‘last’ internet marketing product. As a result this guru made more than US$1 million within a few days. But he is still very active in the IM scene. But now this person can also tell people how anyone can also make lot of money like him in internet marketing by sharing his $1 million story, of course not the white lies portion.

Yes one can definitely make money using the internet. No doubt about it. Having said that, for those who actually teach others how to make money using the internet, they must be responsible and be conscious on what kind of impression they create. Don’t just tell people 1/2 truth or deliberately said and use words to create the impression that it is easy for anyone to make money using the internet.

What the public needs most today is to know the complete picture, 100% of the facts and have someone truly guide them. I truly believe that anyone who can do that will make a lot of money for himself or herself.

  • Fabian Lim says:

    Hi Lawrence,

Thank you for your insightful comments.

A “proven internet business blueprint” does exist, and I DO HAVE one.

But what everyone needs to understand is a blueprint by itself DOES NOT guarantee success.

You have to LEARN the blueprint and TAKE ACTION!

Even so, you may make mistakes along the way – and you then need to fix the mistakes and KEEP GOING.

Ultimately, you’ll reach your ultimate goal and experience success.

So, you need to execute your plan UNTIL the blueprint becomes PROVEN to YOU!

And once you experience success the first time, the second will be much easier.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Fabian

  • Fabian Lim says:

    Hi James,

    Thanks for your post.

The points you raised are certainly valid.

Which is why I always remind my audience during my previews and Internet Marketing Bootcamps that internet marketing is a business, and that it is not difficult to succeed, but you need to invest time, money and resources to nurture the business – like any other business.

On your comments about the other Singaporean marketer, everyone has the right to market their products or expertise however they wish – and in the end, it’s still gonna be "buyer beware".

    Thanks for sharing your comments.

    Fabian

  • mwong says:

    Hi,

I think I have to disagree with Michael.

Internet marketing is a business and we need to invest time & effort into it. People don’t just get rich overnight.

I believe those who succeeded in internet marketing have failed a lot of times yet they try again and they believe in their decision and they work even harder to achieve their goal.

I understand that you might be frustrated that you are burning your wallet and not seeing result. Who doesn’t have the same situation when they first started?

My personal experience with IMB was they are very helpful and quick to respond. I am happy with them so far. :-)

IMB showed me the other way to earn money without going to a 9-5 job and I am really grateful to them. I never dream to earn from internet yet I earned from Amazon.com $700++ when I started. Is might not be a lot but what I want to say is that their methods work.

I also understand that a company need to earn money to survive, they have to pay their staff, operation, even toilet rolls. So if you think that what you bought was not worthed ypur money, it is best that you research the product and consider your budget before you make any puchase. You don’t need to buy the latest product all the time, you know?

Just be patience, make some mistakes, learn from them and change your approach. You will earn your big money very soon.

    All the best. :-)

  • Audrey says:

    Hi Michael,

I believe your comments are true in some sense but not entirely true. I personally have attended many internet marketing seminars and to generalise all internet marketing gurus in that way is unfair to those who are really delivering value. Fabian is right. Have you ever attended any of his seminars or previews? If you haven’t then you’re missing out a lot.

I am a graduate from his bootcamp in Jan last year. And until today I am still attending his previews and I return to his bootcamps as a mentor. Do you know why? Because I know that Fabian delivers value and I will still be able to learn something new everytime I hear him speak. Even if it’s just ONE idea or point, it will be well worth my time to be there.

And believe me, there is a system that Fabian teaches that makes money. It only takes 5 steps. I learnt that system from him and it works. It’s autopilot income from the internet. One time effort, reap continuous returns.

Gurus never tell you that beginners can make money without any learning. All the gurus I have ever listened to all tell about how difficult life was for them and how much they had to struggle with no money and yet they found the time to learn about internet marketing. Then they tell you about how internet marketing has changed their life. So how is it possible that when they were beginners they didn’t go through a learning curve? They tell their audience they had to learn it the hard way. And now they have found a system that they can teach you to make your learning an easier journey.

So Michael, maybe you should give internet marketing experts a chance. Not all are out to con. There are genuine ones who only want to help more people succeed online.

    Audrey
